A Midsummer's Eve in the green by RavenMontoya A Midsummer's Eve in the green by RavenMontoya
Time to get the summer's pictures uploaded, right? This was taken on Midsummer's Eve so it's a while ago already, but I really like how it turned out. All the different greens look wonderful together with Tintin's fur and I really like how it makes this woodland part of the garden look like something of a jungle. :)

My dad thought this picture should be called "Maiden in the green", but naaah... Even though he looks all innocent and girly, Tintin is actually a boy. So no maidens here. Tiny forest sprite though? Hmm, maybe. :giggle:

It is a sort of wonderland, I think. I'm very happy I can let my cats go out and play like this. I've noticed they become very sad and almost depressed if I try to keep them inside for some reason. Going out into the wild is like great big adventure every time. :)

Well I'm happy your cats have a nice place to play in!  Mine is really a house cat but she does go outdoors for naps in the sun for an hour or so every day.

I live in the countryside so there's not much traffic, which is nice. I have one disrespectful neighbour though. He drives like a mad man even though I've put up real traffic signs that warn people about playing cats on our small dirt road. He just doesn't care. :(
That's the only issue here, otherwise it's a cat paradise, I think. During the summer all my cats stay out just to sleep in the sun all day. First some catnip and then sleeeeeeeeep. Seems like a nice life. :)

How did you get him to look directly in the camera? My cat is scared whenever I point anything at 'im and squints or looks away D:

I've been following him around with the camera since he was a kitten (he's two years old now) so I guess he's used to the camera being around.
For this particular shot I was sort of hanging out from my bedroom window, aiming the camera at him with maximum zoom while shouting his name like a crazy person until he looked my way. :XD:

I know some cats are camera shy, but I think the only thing you can do about it is to keep the camera around the cat until the cat gets comfortable with having it there. Talking to the cat and making stupid noises to get it to look up is also very useful. The more you practice the better you get at reading your cat's body language too and that makes it easier to take good photos. Hope that's any help. :)
